We decided to take a different approach as a brand and take into consideration that it was a harsh year for everybody worldwide. Therefore, we don’t want to take the same path as the majority of the fashion brands and bombard you with promotions a few days until Christmas day.
Practically, we’re manifesting a Xmas fast fashion resistance in our campaign that we hope will make people think and appreciate things that are created from a sustainable mindset.
Findings from a couple of surveys conducted all around the world indicate that huge volumes of outfits and accessories will be worn once and discarded over the festive period.
A lot of information comes from a study* conducted in the UK, whereof the 2,000 women surveyed, aged between 18 and 55, half admitted they would abandon their fast-fashion pieces after office parties and get-togethers. Another research by Hubbub revealed an average expenditure for an adult of around £73 for Christmas parties, with one in five adamant they’d be wearing their new garments on more than one occasion.
It’s imperative that we all take a stand against mass consumerism. Being socially conscious should be the new in-thing. Minimalism and slow living are transforming how people live. And more people are beginning to ask questions about the impact of their clothing tastes. Fashion is no longer simply about the latest style.
